An O’Keeffe-inspired hat after our own hearts, each Abiquiú bolero is handcrafted by Sombreros Tardan, in Mexico City — a family owned millinery that has continued its traditional methods of hat making since it first opened in 1847.
As easily at home in Mt. Hood National Forest, as in Northern New Mexico, this impeccably crafted hat is a highly versatile heirloom piece, you’ll wear year-round, for decades to come.
100% virgin wool, with a Japanese grosgrain band, fully-lined interior, and vegan sweatband.
Please see notes below regarding how to take your hat measurement, and our return policy. If we don’t have your size in stock: contact us to place a custom-size request, and we’ll have your hat made to order.
SIZING: As a constructed (not crushable) hat style, it’s important to take accurate measurements to ensure a proper fit for years to come:
You will need a tape measure (centimeters).
Measure the circumference of your head where you will be wearing the hat (I.E.. Low on the forehead, a few millimeters above the ears, if you would like to wear this style more traditionally. Or, up higher on the forehead, and around the base of the back of your head, if you would like to wear this style tipped back).
Hold the tape firm, not tight, around your head until the ends meet, and record your measurement.
X-Small = 54 cm
Small = 56 cm
Small/Medium = 57 cm
Medium = 58 cm
Large = 59 cm
